Having a dad who is a certified HVAC professional has been amazing.
I didn’t fully appreciate my dad’s career choice until I moved out on my own.
The first apartment I rented had a horrible HVAC system and my monthly utility costs were through the roof. In order to save money, I was forced to live without basic heat and air because it was too expensive to run. When I told my dad about this, he immediately came over with a brand new HVAC system to install. According to him, it was an extra the company had with a few bumps and scratches on it that wouldn’t sell. Since he was my dad, he would install it for free. My landlord was more than happy to let my dad install the brand new HVAC system free of charge. Several years later, when I moved into my first house, I realized how important it was to upkeep my HVAC system in order to keep it running efficiently. I like to have my dad service my HVAC system at least twice per year, because it keeps my HVAC system running at optimal performance. Like every other year, I called my dad and asked him to come service my AC system before I began running it for the summer season. To my surprise, he told me that he was unable to come for several weeks because he was so busy. Thankfully, I didn’t experience any issues with my AC system during that time, because I had to wait for what felt like forever for my dad to finally service my AC system!
